AMMAN, Sept. 16 (Petra) – Minister of Government Communication and
Government Spokesperson Dr. Mohammad Momani underscored the vital
importance of keeping official government media tools aligned with
the rapid technological advancements sweeping the digital media
landscape.
Speaking in Amman on Wednesday at the opening of a digital
communication and social media capacity-building workshop organized
by the Ministry of Government Communication in cooperation with the
Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Momani noted that
the training session –led by a team of experts from Meta (the parent
company of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads) –aims to
upgrade the competencies of government media personnel and brief them
on cutting-edge digital media methodologies.
Momani stressed that Jordan possesses a successful track record in
digital media performance, highlighting the ongoing imperative to
monitor modern media developments, tools, and platforms. He also
pointed out the necessity of adapting to evolving journalistic and
communicative formats to maximize public outreach and audience
engagement.
The workshop targeted official spokespersons, digital media
directors, and communication unit personnel across ministries, public
institutions, regulatory bodies, and state-owned companies.
Attended by 126 media professionals from government communication
units, the workshop forms part of the Ministry of Government
Communication’s broader training strategy to continuously build the
skills of official press corps. The initiative seeks to optimize the
use of social media tools within official public relations and media
operations, while raising awareness regarding the safe and positive
deployment of diverse digital instruments.
The workshop’s comprehensive agenda covered multiple core themes,
including informational content pillars, content classification,
optimal scheduling for publishing and engagement, algorithmic
strategies to enhance content reach and visibility, updated
guidelines for managing multimedia assets such as photos and videos,
and performance metrics for media campaigns.
