MoU
Signed Between Omani Companies, Kazakh Institutions

Almaty,
28 Oct 2026 (ONA) — B2B networking meetings organized today in Almaty, Republic
of Kazakhstan, by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion,
represented by “Oman Exports,” resulted in the signing of several
memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between Omani companies and Kazakh
institutions in the fields of food industries, technology, and innovation.

This
took place as part of a trade mission program involving 22 Omani companies,
with the attendance of approximately 100 to 150 companies and businessmen from
the Kazakh side.

The
meetings witnessed direct commercial talks between representatives of companies
from both countries, covering trade and investment cooperation opportunities,
expanding bilateral trade exchange, and opening new channels for marketing and
distributing Omani products in the Kazakh market and Central Asian markets. The
talks also explored opportunities for joint manufacturing and establishing
sustainable economic partnerships, thereby enhancing the presence of national
companies in international markets.

This
visit comes within the framework of efforts exerted by the Ministry of
Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion to enhance the competitiveness of
Omani non-oil exports, diversify their foreign markets, and connect Omani
exporters with importers, distributors, and commercial partners in target
markets, contributing to increasing the reach of national products and boosting
their contribution to the national economy, in line with the targets of Oman
Vision 2040.

Sheikh
Dr. Salah Salim Ja’boob, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of
Kazakhstan, affirmed that organizing B2B meetings between Omani companies and
their Kazakh counterparts in Almaty embodies orientations aimed at translating
the outcomes of the Royal Visit into tangible economic and commercial
partnerships. He pointed out that these meetings provided a direct platform to
strengthen communication between the business communities in both countries and
explore promising opportunities across various economic sectors.

He
added that the signed memorandums will enhance entry opportunities for Omani
products and services into the Kazakh market and Central Asian markets,
emphasizing that these results reflect the potential and competitive
capabilities enjoyed by Omani companies that qualify them to expand in
international markets and build sustainable trade and investment partnerships.

For
his part, Mohammed Khalaf Al Hamdani, Senior Export Promotion Specialist at the
Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, explained that the B2B
meetings in the Republic of Kazakhstan contributed to providing direct
commercial opportunities for Omani exporting companies by connecting them with
potential importers, distributors, and trade partners, as well as introducing
national products and their competitive capabilities in several economic
sectors. He noted that the meetings enabled participating companies to hold
direct meetings with representatives of Kazakh companies and discuss supply,
distribution, and joint manufacturing opportunities, as well as learn about
market requirements and needs.

He
added that the meetings focused on priority sectors, including pharmaceutical
products and medical supplies, food and fish products, marble and building
materials industries, aluminum, and metallic and petrochemical products. He
stressed that the Kazakh market represents a promising destination for Omani
exports, in addition to its strategic location providing access opportunities
to Central Asian markets.

He
pointed out that the signing of several MoUs during the visit represents an
important step toward transforming trade communication opportunities into
practical partnerships, explaining that “Oman Exports” is working on
following up on the meeting outcomes and supporting national companies in
completing commercial talks to convert them into export contracts and deals,
thereby contributing to increasing the volume of Omani non-oil exports and diversifying
their foreign markets.

Omani
company “Four Dimensions” signed an MoU with Kazakh group “Sherstnev”
aiming at cooperation in the food processing field for mango fruits produced in
the company’s farms in the Sultanate of Oman, alongside exploring trade
exchange opportunities and marketing and distributing food products in the
markets of both countries.

The
MoU includes studying opportunities for manufacturing value-added food products
from Omani mangoes, including dried mangoes, natural juices, juice
concentrates, and mango pulp, alongside other food products, contributing to
diversifying national agricultural products, enhancing their economic value,
and leveraging the industrial and marketing capabilities of both parties.

This
cooperation is linked to the company’s mango production project in the Wilayat
of Barka, South Al Batinah Governorate, which extends over an area of
approximately 163 acres and targets planting around 39,000 mango trees of
various commercial varieties, with a target production capacity of
approximately 900 tons annually upon completion of project phases and the trees
reaching stable commercial production, utilizing high-density farming systems
and modern irrigation technologies.

In
the technology and innovation sector, Omani company “Rakeeza” signed
an MoU with the Almaty Center for Advanced Science and Technologies (ACAST) to
establish a strategic partnership contributing to developing the center—which
holds an investment value of approximately USD 100 million—into a regional
center for science and technology in Central Asia.

Under
the MoU, “Rakeeza” will contribute to the strategic, engineering, and
commercial planning works of the project, as well as preparing feasibility
studies, technical requirements, and execution and operational plans, with a
focus on knowledge transfer and converting innovations and research outputs
into industrial applications and commercially viable solutions, thereby
enhancing the center’s sustainability and economic impact.

The
project aims to support scientific research, industrial testing, and technology
commercialization in mining, agriculture, energy, and other economic sectors by
linking scientific research outputs with market and industry needs, and
strengthening integration between research institutions and the industrial
sector.

The
two MoUs reflect the diversity of economic cooperation areas between the
Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Kazakhstan, extending from commercial
sectors and food industries to technical and research projects, opening new
horizons for Omani companies to benefit from investment and trade opportunities
in foreign markets.

The
Integrated Logistics Services (ILS) Company signed an MoU with the
International Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan on the sidelines of the B2B
meetings organized by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment
Promotion, represented by “Oman Exports.”

The
MoU aims to enhance logistical cooperation and supply chain connectivity
between the Sultanate of Oman and Kazakhstan, open new trade horizons, and
build strategic business partnerships between the two countries.

This
participation falls within the plans of “Oman Exports” to promote
national products in priority markets during 2026 and 2027, and enhance the
utilization of competitive and logistical advantages enjoyed by the Sultanate
of Oman, supporting non-oil export growth, diversifying trade partners, and
opening new outlets for Omani products and services in regional and
international markets.
