Amman, July 21 (Petra) — The National Electric Power Company (NEPCO)
reported a 2.2 percent increase in total electricity sales during the
first six months of this year compared with the same period in 2025.

Company data showed that electricity sales reached 11,274.4
gigawatt-hours (GWh) by the end of June, compared with 11,035.7 GWh
during the corresponding period last year.

Sales to the Kingdom’s three electricity distribution companies
totaled 10,821.9 GWh, compared with 10,604.5 GWh, marking a 2 percent
increase. Jordan Electric Power Company sales reached 6,789.6 GWh,
compared with 6,613.3 GWh, an increase of 2.7 percent.

Irbid District Electricity Company sales stood at 2,104.7 GWh,
compared with 2,064.9 GWh, up 1.9 percent, while Electricity
Distribution Company sales amounted to 1,927.7 GWh, compared with
1,926.4 GWh, an increase of 0.1 percent.

According to the data, NEPCO’s electricity sales to major customers
totaled 266.4 GWh during the period.

Electricity exports increased by 13.1 percent, rising to 186.1 GWh
from 164.6 GWh during the same period last year.

Exported electricity included 77.1 GWh supplied to the General
Electricity Transmission Company in the Central Region, compared with
68.1 GWh, an increase of 13.2 percent; 104.9 GWh supplied to the
Jerusalem District Electricity Company, compared with 92.8 GWh, up 13
percent; and 4.1 GWh supplied through the Trebil border crossing with
Iraq, compared with 3.7 GWh, an increase of 12.2 percent.
