Profit Growth of Listed Companies on MSX Reaches 12% in Q2 2026

Muscat,
27 July 2026 (ONA) — Public joint-stock companies listed on the Muscat Stock
Exchange (MSX) recorded a net profit of RO 866.98 million during the second
quarter of 2026, an increase of 12 percent compared to the same period in 2025,
while 87 percent of the companies that disclosed their financial results
generated profits during the same period.

The
results showed profit growth across three main sectors, with the industrial
sector recording the highest growth rate at 51 percent, followed by the
financial sector at 13 percent, and investment and real estate funds at 11
percent, while the services sector declined by 4 percent.

The
financial sector maintained its position as the largest sector in terms of
profit volume, recording RO 392 million compared to RO 346 million during the
second quarter of 2025, representing an increase of RO 46 million.

The
services sector recorded profits of RO 297 million compared to RO 309 million in
the same period last year, while profits of the industrial sector rose to RO 172
million compared to RO 114 million, marking the largest increase in profit
value among the sectors.

Profits
of investment and real estate funds reached approximately RO 6 million compared
to RO 5 million during the corresponding period last year.

At
the company level, OQ Exploration and Production Company topped the list of
most profitable companies with a net profit of RO 196.87 million, followed by
Bank Muscat with RO 137.49 million, then Oman India Fertilizer Company (OMIFCO)
with RO 80.22 million, while Sohar International Bank ranked fourth with
profits of RO 53 million, and OQ Basic Industries came fifth with profits of RO
43.30 million.

The
results showed the continued contribution of the financial and services sectors
to the largest share of total profits, coinciding with the industrial sector
recording the highest growth rate among the sectors, reflecting the diversity
of profitability sources among listed companies and performance variation
according to the nature of economic activities.

The
second-quarter results reflect listed companies’ continued achievement of high
profitability levels, supported by the performance of key sectors and the
expanding base of profitable companies, as the proportion of companies
achieving profits reached 87 percent of total disclosing companies, marking one
of the highest profitability rates recorded in recent periods.
