Zarqa, Sept. 9 (Petra) — New Birayn Municipality on Wednesday
invited residents to apply for a household rainwater harvesting
initiative implemented by the International Union for Conservation of
Nature (IUCN) in Jordan in cooperation with local partners.

According to a municipal statement, the initiative is part of the
IUCN project “Reducing Sedimentation in the King Talal Dam Basin to
Enhance Water Security,” funded by the Embassy of the Netherlands.

The project aims to protect water catchments, reduce soil erosion,
and improve the sustainability of household water resources in the
area.

The municipality indicated that interested households can apply by
completing an electronic registration form through the accompanying
QR code or the link published on the IUCN’s social media pages.

Applicants were urged to provide accurate information, with the
municipality stressing that submitting an application does not
guarantee acceptance. Applications will be assessed according to
technical, social, and field criteria, and eligible households will
be contacted for field verification and completion of the selection
