New teachers to receive residential land plots: Ministry

Amman, Sep. 16 (Petra) –Ministry of Education has announced plans to
hold a lottery draw to select beneficiaries for the second batch of
the teacher land-ownership project.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ministry indicated that the
draw would be streamed live on its official Facebook page Thursday,
Sep. 17, at 12:00pm.

The ministry has completed lists of nominated teachers for this
second batch, comprising 482 male and female teachers.

The government had previously allocated 1,039 plots of land for
teacher housing projects across the Kingdom’s governorates.

Facilitated by the Housing and Urban Development Corporation, the
program offered discounts for benefiaciries up to 50%, compared to
the market value of similar parcels.

This initiative follows directives from Prime Minister Dr. Jafar
Hassan to allocate land for teacher housing in the governorates.

It is part of a “comprehensive” package designed to support Ministry
of Education teachers, acknowledging their pivotal role in shaping
future generations.

Additionally, it reflects the government’s belief in the teachers’
social and professional position and the importance of improving
their living conditions and providing them with support and
empowerment.
