Business Forum Explores Partnership, Investment Opportunities

Muscat,
5 Aug 2026 (ONA) — Oman-Nepal Business Forum, organized by Oman Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (OCCI) today in Muscat, discussed partnership and
investment opportunities between the Sultanate of Oman and the Federal
Democratic Republic of Nepal in the sectors of trade, investment, food security,
water, beverages, handicrafts and traditional industries.

The
forum aimed to enhance communication between the business communities in the
two countries, explore available commercial and investment opportunities, and
discuss the possibilities of establishing partnerships and joint projects in a
number of targeted economic sectors.

Salim
Said Al Alawi, Director General of the Board of Directors and International
Cooperation Sector at Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that the
organization of the forum stems from the Chamber’s belief that the private
sector represents a key partner in building economic relations and enhancing
mutual interests between countries. He added that direct communication between
business owners represents the first step toward identifying opportunities,
exchanging experiences, and building sustainable partnerships capable of
achieving added value for the national economy.

He
explained that the selection of the themes for this forum reflects the
diversity of promising opportunities that can bring together Omani business
owners and their Nepalese counterparts, opening broad horizons for cooperation
and partnership. This provides opportunities for exchanging expertise,
transferring modern technologies, and enhancing investment in the fields of
water management, food production and processing, logistics services, trade
exchange, and establishing investment partnerships, thereby contributing to
supporting economic development and sustainability.

On
his part, Bishesh Kumar Sah, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the Federal
Democratic Republic of Nepal in the Sultanate of Oman, emphasized the
importance of the forum in enhancing economic and commercial relations between
the two countries. He highlighted the direct communication it provides between
business owners to identify areas of cooperation and investment, and to build
sustainable partnerships that serve mutual interests.

He
praised the potentials and opportunities enjoyed by the Sultanate of Oman and
the Republic of Nepal, which can be built upon to expand cooperation between
the private sectors in both countries. He pointed out the importance of
continuing to organize economic meetings and events that contribute to opening
new channels for trade and investment exchange, enhancing the presence of
products and services in the markets of both countries, and encouraging the
establishment of joint projects.

The
forum witnessed the presentation of several working papers and visual
presentations from both sides, which addressed exploring the Omani market from
the perspective of the private sector and the opportunities for enhancing
commercial and investment cooperation with the Sultanate of Oman.

On
the sidelines of the forum, B2B meetings were held between businesspeople from Oman
and Nepal. During these meetings, they discussed trade and investment
cooperation opportunities, identified areas of joint action, and explored the
possibility of establishing partnerships and joint projects. This enhances
direct communication between the private sector in the two countries and
supports the development of Omani-Nepalese economic and commercial relations.
