Refineries, Petroleum Industries Leads Regional Dialogue on Asset Management
Sohar,
15 Sep 2026 (ONA) — OQ Refineries and Petroleum Industries, a company of OQ
Group, the global integrated energy investment group, organized today the
Maintenance, Reliability, and Asset Management Conference at the Radisson Blu
Hotel Sohar.
The
event saw the participation of an elite group of sector leaders, technical
experts, and specialists from the Sultanate of Oman and the GCC countries.
The
third edition of the conference is held under the theme “Smart Strategies
for the Maintenance, Reliability, and Sustainable Management of Physical
Assets.” It aims to exchange knowledge and expertise, explore new
technologies, and consolidate cooperation between institutions in the energy
and industrial sectors.
The
conference also highlighted the role of advanced asset management practices in
raising operational readiness and reliability, improving efficiency, and
developing maintenance methods.
Kamel
Bakhit Al Shanfari, Chief Executive Officer of OQ Refineries and Petroleum
Industries, stated that the third Reliability and Asset Management Conference
constitutes an important platform for enhancing dialogue and exchanging
experiences among sector leaders and specialized experts in the fields of
maintenance, reliability, and asset management. He pointed out that by hosting
this event, OQ Refineries and Petroleum Industries continues its leading role
in supporting the development of advanced asset management practices and
enhancing operational excellence, thereby contributing to achieving the
objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
The
conference’s program includes keynote sessions, specialized visual
presentations, and panel discussions on topics such as predictive maintenance,
digital transformation, and the employment of advanced analytics and artificial
intelligence in asset management. This is alongside reviewing practical
solutions to enhance reliability, improve performance, and extend the
operational lifespan of industrial assets.
The
conference also includes a preparatory workshop presented by international
expert Ron Moore, reviewing the best global practices in reliability management
and improving asset performance.
The
conference sessions also address the importance of adopting recognized
international frameworks and standards, such as ISO 55001 and ISO 55002, to
support the implementation of consistent and sustainable practices in asset
management.
Organizing
the 2026 conference reflects the commitment of OQ Refineries and Petroleum
Industries to enhancing knowledge exchange and building professional
capacities, as well as supporting the adoption of modern practices and
technologies that contribute to raising asset efficiency and enhancing their
