Palestinian NGOs condemn Israel’s bombing of aid warehouse in Gaza’s Deir al-Balah

Gaza, Jan 5 (Petra) – The Palestinian NGO Network condemned the Israeli occupation’s attack on a humanitarian aid distribution point operated by the Ma’an Development Center on Al-Baraka Street in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip.

In a statement issued Sunday, the network reported that occupation aircraft directly targeted the warehouse used for the food aid project implemented by the center in cooperation with the World Food Programme (WFP). The bombing resulted in serious injuries to three center employees and several civilians.

The network noted that the warehouse has been utilized for a year to distribute food aid to displaced residents in Deir al-Balah and that its location coordinates were previously shared with the WFP.

Expressing grave concern, the network highlighted this as part of the occupation’s systematic targeting of humanitarian organizations and aid workers, who strive to provide assistance to the Palestinian people amidst an unprecedented humanitarian crisis caused by the occupation.

It further asserted that such attacks are part of a broader strategy of starvation and collective punishment, forming a continuation of the genocide against the Palestinian population that has persisted for over 15 months. The network called for ensuring the safety of humanitarian organizations and workers and demanded unimpeded access for aid to Gaza.
