Police arrest 222 in seventh week of nationwide crackdown on crystal meth

Amman, Sept. 13 (Petra) – Anti-narcotics officers arrested 222 people
across Jordan and handled 142 cases during the seventh week of a
major crackdown on crystal meth, the Public Security Directorate
(PSD) announced on Sunday.

The raids targeted 44 trafficking cases, leading to 72 suspected
dealers, and 98 abuse cases involving 150 users, with officers
seizing supplies of crystal meth.

The PSD pledged to continue the crackdown campaign, warning that
crystal meth leads to fatal overdoses and violent crime.

Authorities urged Jordanians to report information or suspected
activity related to crystal meth to 911, assuring that all tips will
be handled with confidentiality.
