Police Arrest 26 in Eight Drug Cases Nationwide

Amman, Sept. 2 (Petra) –Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) arrested 26
suspects in eight drug trafficking and distribution cases across the
Kingdom, seizing “large” quantities of narcotics and firearms, the
Public Security Directorate (PSD) announced Wednesday.

In the most significant case, two suspects linked to regional
drug-smuggling gangs were arrested while allegedly transporting
narcotics from southern Jordan toward Madaba. Police seized 240 slabs
of hashish and 11 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.

In Ruwaished district, the PSD noted that two security campaigns led
to the arrest of 11 wanted and suspected individuals and the seizure
of 33,000 narcotic pills and 12 firearms.

Five suspects were also arrested in Aqaba in a separate operation
targeting drug dealers and distributors, with various quantities of
narcotics seized.

In Amman, police handled two cases involving crystal methamphetamine
and hashish. One suspect was arrested with half a kilogram of crystal
methamphetamine, while another was found with four slabs of hashish
and a firearm.

Two suspects were arrested in Irbid with 250 grams of crystal
methamphetamine, while two others were detained in Madaba with nine
slabs of hashish.

In the southern Badia, two suspected drug dealers were arrested with
6,000 narcotic pills.
