Khartoum, March 27, 2026 (SUNA) – Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris reaffirmed the Government of Hope’s commitment to removing impediments facing airport operations and pledged full support to the Sudan Airports Company to advance airport development in line with global standards.The remarks came during his meeting on Thursday at Port Sudan Airport with Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority, Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Mohammed Abdullah, and Director General of the Sudan Airports Company, Eng. Sir Al-Khatim Babiker.Prime Minister Idris reiterated the government’s resolve to mobilize all efforts to enhance airport performance and facilitate the movement of citizens, particularly in support of voluntary return.During the meeting, he received a comprehensive briefing on the readiness of Khartoum International Airport and other state airports, confirming the completion of operational arrangements to receive domestic, regional, and international flights. He was also briefed on the conditions of airport personnel across the country.The Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority affirmed that all arrangements for reopening Sudan’s airspace, both domestically and internationally, have been finalized. Meanwhile, the Director General of the Sudan Airports Company confirmed the full readiness of Khartoum International Airport to resume regional and international operations.BH/BH
