Amman, Sept. 10 (Petra) — Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah, Director of
Public Security Directorate (PSD) took part Thursday in the Global
Public Security Cooperation Forum in China, held under the theme:
“Uniting to Strengthen Public Security Governance and Achieve
Stability in a Turbulent World,” with the participation of ministers,
security and police chiefs, and experts from countries around the
world.

Held on the forum’s sidelines, Maaytah met with Chinese Vice Minister
of Public Security Qi Yanjun.

During the two meeting, the two officials discussed expanding
relations and enhancing joint security and police cooperation.

The two sides also called for exchanging expertise to improve
readiness of security agencies in addressing shared challenges.

Maaytah stressed the importance of strengthening partnerships among
law enforcement agencies amid rapidly evolving, interlinked and
cross-border security challenges, which require developing security
response tools that keep pace with these developments.

Touring an exhibition of security equipment and technologies held
alongside the forum, he reviewed the latest systems, solutions and
innovations used in security and policing and their role in
developing law enforcement capabilities, improving performance
efficiency, and enhancing response speed and security readiness.

On its goals, the PSD’s participation aligns with its strategy to
strengthen international cooperation and support global efforts to
maintain security and stability.
