Amman, Jan. 5 (Petra) – The Public Security Directorate (PSD) issued a warning regarding the current unstable weather conditions, characterized by sporadic rainfall across various areas, which may lead to flash floods and flowing streams, as indicated in forecasts from the relevant authorities.
The PSD emphasized the importance of adopting safe practices and adhering to public safety measures, including avoiding flood-prone areas, riverbanks, and low-lying regions. Citizens are advised against attempting to cross areas of water accumulation or flowing streams, whether by vehicle or on foot, and are encouraged to relocate to higher ground, especially those residing in mobile housing units such as tents and makeshift shelters, to avoid being overtaken by rainwater.
Additionally, the PSD urged the public to use heating devices safely, ensuring adequate ventilation and refraining from leaving them on while sleeping.
Motorists were reminded to exercise caution while driving, particularly during rainfall, and to remain vigilant on the roads.
The PSD also highlighted the availability of the unified emergency number, 911, across the Kingdom for assistance in case of need.
