Amman, Sept. 15 (Petra) — Public Security Directorate (PSD)
spokesperson said the recent brawl in Irbid that circulated on social
media was fueled by a neighborhood dispute, adding that the two main
culprits were arrested.
According to the spokesperson, the police was tipped off on an
altercation in one of Irbid’s neighborhoods on Sept. 8.
Security personnel responded immediately and found two people were
evacuated to hospital for treatment after being assaulted, as an
investigation was opened at the scene, the official said.
Investigators, working from witness accounts, identified two minors
involved in the brawl, one of whom was an Arab national, and was
accomplice in the stabbing crime.
The spokesperson added that both were arrested, referred to the
judiciary and detained at a juvenile rehabilitation center, as the
two perpetrators are still in custody.
The spokesperson urged the public to obtain information on such cases
from official sources only, noting that all investigative and
judicial procedures have been completed and the case is now before
the courts.
