Public Works Ministry begins drainage project in Ghor Fayfa area

Amman, July 22 (Petr) — The Ministry of Public Works and Housing has
announced that construction will begin on Thursday to construct the
Al-Sammar culvert on the Ghor Road in the Ghor Fayfa area, in the
Karak governorate’s Southern Jordan Valley district, to divert
rainwater into the mapped valley course, replacing older drainage
structures.

The ministry stated that the project forms part of its broader plan
to improve road network efficiency, maintain infrastructure, and
enhance traffic safety to ensure secure and sustainable routes for
motorists.

The works will be carried out in coordination with the Public
Security Directorate under a temporary traffic plan designed to
maintain smooth traffic flow and safeguard both road users and
construction crews, the ministry added.

According to the ministry, main traffic will be diverted onto a
temporary bypass that has been equipped with necessary traffic safety
features and signage.

The ministry urged all drivers using the route to adhere to warning
signs at the site, follow instructions from ministry personnel and
traffic police, and practice safe driving to ensure public safety and
the timely completion of the project.
