Qatar Finish Seventh in 2026 AVC Men’s Volleyball Cup in India

Ahmedabad/India, June 28 (QNA) – The Qatar men’s team concluded their campaign in the 2026 AVC Men’s Volleyball Cup, staged in Ahmedabad, India, in seventh place after thrashing Chinese Taipei 3-1 in the classification match for seventh and eighth place.

The set scores were 30-32, 25-22, 25-18, and 25-15, as Qatar recovered from losing the opening set to secure a comeback triumph by winning the next three sets, finishing the tournament with their second win.

Qatar finished the group stage (Pool B) in fourth place, with one win over Thailand and three defeats against Oman, Indonesia, and South Korea, which placed them in the classification match for seventh place against Chinese Taipei.

In the other final-day matches, Indonesia were crowned champions after defeating South Korea in the final in straight sets, while hosts India secured third place after beating Bahrain 3-1.

Kazakhstan finished fifth after defeating Thailand 3-1, while Oman finished ninth following a win over New Zealand, which placed tenth. (QNA)
