Doha, September 24 (QNA) – As part of the ongoing strategic partnership between Qatar University (QU) and Qatar Shell to support young people and develop their capabilities, the two organizations have announced the launch of the fourth cohort of the Shell Intilaaqah – Qatar program.
The eight-week program continues its mission to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among QU students, strengthen their personal and professional skills, and empower them to explore their potential and shape their future pathways with confidence and purpose.
Registration for the fourth cohort attracted strong interest from QU students, with 377 students from a wide range of colleges and academic disciplines applying to join the program. Of these, 215 students were selected to participate based on the program’s approved selection criteria and process.
Results from previous cohorts have also demonstrated a positive impact on a number of key competencies, including self-confidence, creative thinking, teamwork, effective communication, and problem-solving. The program has also encouraged students to explore entrepreneurship and consider how their ideas can be developed into viable and scalable ventures.
Commenting on the launch, Dean of the College of Business and Economics at QU, Dr. Abdullah Fetais said that the continued interest in Shell Intilaaqah – Qatar reflects the value the program brings to students and the impact it has achieved through its previous cohorts. He noted that the program has become an important platform that enables students to discover their potential, develop their skills, and better prepare themselves for the opportunities and demands of the future.
He added that the Center for Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with Qatar Shell, remains committed to continuously enhancing the program experience in line with students’ aspirations and the rapidly evolving labor market and entrepreneurial landscape, while further strengthening a culture of innovation and initiative across the QU community.
For his part, General Manager of Public Relations at Qatar Shell, Hussain Al Hijji said that the continued success of Shell Intilaaqah – Qatar and the growing interest among students highlight the importance of investing in young people and equipping them with the skills they need for the future.
He added that the program reflects Qatar Shell’s commitment to supporting human development in the State of Qatar by focusing on practical skills, entrepreneurial thinking, and personal leadership, helping young people navigate change, identify opportunities, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
The Shell Intilaaqah – Qatar program is part of the global Shell LiveWIRE initiative, which aims to support young people and entrepreneurs in developing their capabilities and strengthening their readiness through training, mentorship, capacity building, and networking, opening up broader opportunities for learning, growth, and innovation.
