Salt, Aug. 30 (Petra) — Greater Salt Municipality has completed an
architectural redesign of the city’s main entrance, incorporating
elements of traditional Salt architecture to enhance the urban
landscape and reinforce the city’s visual identity.

The project reuses the distinctive yellow stone associated with
Salt’s architecture, integrating it into a contemporary design
featuring stone columns and frames, colored tiles, and floral and
geometric motifs. The elements were arranged to reflect the
architectural character of the city while adapting it to a modern
urban setting.

Chairman of the Greater Salt Municipality Committee Ali Bataineh said
the project is part of efforts to highlight the city’s architectural
and cultural identity and turn its entrances into visual gateways
that reflect Salt’s history and distinctive urban character.

He said improving the urban landscape goes beyond aesthetic upgrades,
with the project also intended to preserve the city’s architectural
and cultural memory and extend its visual identity beyond the
immediate boundaries of the historic urban fabric.

The initiative forms part of the municipality’s broader approach to
developing a consistent visual identity for Salt, linking
contemporary improvements across the city with the architectural
heritage and cultural character that define it.
