Starmer says final Prime Minister’s Questions marks end of his political career

London, July 15 (Petra) — British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said
on Wednesday that his appearance at Prime Minister’s Questions in the
House of Commons would be his last before leaving office, describing
it as “the end of my political journey.”

Starmer said he was proud of what his government had achieved during
his time in office and thanked everyone who had supported him
throughout his political career.

According to the BBC, the session took place in a cordial atmosphere,
with lawmakers from across the political spectrum praising Starmer’s
performance, while Labour Party MPs gave him a standing ovation.

Starmer is scheduled to hand over the premiership to Andy Burnham
next week after Burnham’s election as Labour Party leader is formally
confirmed.

Starmer also pledged to support his successor whenever needed and
thanked his staff and all those who stood by him during his tenure.
