Zarqa, Sept. 7 (Petra) — Participants in a panel discussion Monday
evening at Habib Al-Zyoudi Hall in the Hashemiyah Municipality
explored the role of novels and drama in reproducing the Jordanian
narrative, discussing how literary and artistic works can reinforce
national identity and preserve collective memory.

The symposium, titled “The Novel and Drama and Their Role in
Reproducing the Jordanian Narrative,” was held as part of the third
edition of the Zarqa Festival for Culture and Arts.

MP Hussein Al-Amoush and writer Mukhled Al-Zyoudi discussed
strategies for utilizing novels and drama to address social and
cultural shifts. They emphasized reinterpreting the Jordanian
experience through creative works to amplify the national narrative
and broaden its analytical scope.

The panel, moderated by media figure Linda Al-Mawajdeh, featured
discussions on the capacity of art and literature to transform local
history into creative content that safeguards national memory and
fosters cultural awareness.

Director of the Zarqa Culture Directorate Mohammad Al-Zoubi told the
Jordan News Agency (Petra) that festival activities are taking place
across various districts in Zarqa Governorate to stimulate cultural
engagement and expand community participation. He noted that
intellectual seminars provide a key platform for scholars,
intellectuals, and community members to discuss creative subjects
that strengthen national consciousness.
