Symposium Opens in Amman to Support Physicians Pursuing North American Residencies

Amman, July 28 (Petra) – The Jordanian American Physicians
Association (JAPA) on Tuesday launched the JAPA Match Symposium 2026
in Amman, bringing together leading physicians and consultants from
the United States with hundreds of medical students and doctors from
Jordan and abroad to support applicants seeking medical residency
programs in the United States and Canada.

Held at the Four Seasons Hotel, the symposium is the largest event of
its kind in Jordan, offering scientific sessions and interactive
workshops led by Jordanian physicians serving in academic and
leadership positions at prominent U.S. medical institutions.

Jordan Medical Association President Issa Khashashneh praised the
symposium’s scientific content, commending JAPA’s role in
strengthening the international standing of Jordanian physicians and
fostering professional and academic cooperation between Jordanian
doctors at home and abroad.

He underlined the association’s commitment to expanding cooperation
with JAPA to support young Jordanian physicians pursuing postgraduate
training in the United States through residency, fellowship and
professional development opportunities, as well as partnerships with
leading medical and academic institutions.

Khashashneh also urged Jordanian physicians working abroad to
maintain close ties with the Jordan Medical Association, expressing
hope that stronger cooperation would lead to new scientific
initiatives, research partnerships and continuing medical education
programs that benefit physicians and contribute to advancing Jordan’s
healthcare sector.

The symposium’s scientific program features sessions on residency
application strategies, CV preparation, interview skills, specialty
selection and the use of artificial intelligence in medical
education. Participants were also introduced to JAPA’s initiatives,
including elective clinical training opportunities, academic advising
and an educational loan program.

The event also provides networking opportunities through panel
discussions connecting participants with physicians and medical
experts.

Founded in 2020, JAPA works to support Jordanian physicians and
strengthen medical and scientific cooperation between Jordan and the
United States through educational, training, humanitarian and
academic initiatives aimed at advancing the healthcare sector.
