Amman, Sep. 3 (Petra) — Moderate weather is forecast across the
highlands and plains on Thursday, with temperatures expected to
decline gradually over the coming days and milder conditions
spreading to most regions by Sunday, according to the Jordan
Meteorological Department.

Hot conditions will persist on Thursday in the Badia, the Jordan
Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, while low clouds are expected in some
areas. Moderate northwesterly winds will become active at intervals.

Temperatures are forecast to edge lower on Friday, although moderate
conditions will continue across the mountainous areas and plains. The
Badia will remain relatively hot, while the Jordan Valley, the Dead
Sea and Aqaba will continue to experience hot weather. Low clouds are
expected over northern areas, with moderate northwesterly winds
strengthening at intervals.

A further slight decline is expected on Saturday, maintaining
moderate weather across the highlands and plains. Relatively hot
conditions will persist in the Badia, while the Jordan Valley, the
Dead Sea and Aqaba remain hot. Northwesterly winds will be moderate,
becoming active at times.

The cooling trend will extend into Sunday, when moderate weather is
expected across most parts of the country. Hot conditions will remain
confined to the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with some low
clouds expected and moderate northwesterly winds becoming active
occasionally.

Thursday’s temperatures are forecast to reach 34 degrees Celsius in
East Amman and across the plains and 32 C in West Amman. Highs will
reach 30 C in the northern highlands, 29 C in the Sharah highlands
and 37 C in the Badia.

Temperatures are expected to reach 40 C in the northern Jordan Valley
and Aqaba and 41 C in the southern Jordan Valley and at the Dead Sea.
