Amman, June 30 (Petra) — Relatively hot weather is expected to
continue through Wednesday before temperatures ease to seasonal
levels later in the week, according to the Jordan Meteorological
Department.

Forecasters said Tuesday and Wednesday will bring relatively hot
conditions across most parts of the country, while hot weather is
expected to persist in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and
Aqaba. Moderate northwesterly winds are forecast to become active at
intervals, particularly in desert areas.

A slight drop in temperatures is expected on Thursday, bringing
readings back to their climatological averages for this time of year.
Mild conditions are forecast to return across most regions, while
relatively hot to hot weather will continue in the Badia and
low-lying areas, including the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.

Low-level clouds are also expected to develop intermittently on
Thursday, while moderate northwesterly winds will remain active at
times.

The prevailing weather pattern is expected to continue on Friday,
with seasonally mild conditions across most areas and relatively hot
to hot weather persisting in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead
Sea and Aqaba. Low clouds are forecast to remain over parts of the
country, accompanied by moderate northwesterly winds that may
strengthen periodically.

Tuesday’s temperatures are forecast to reach 33 degrees Celsius in
East Amman and 31 degrees in West Amman. Highs are expected to reach
29 C in the northern highlands and 30 C in the Sharah highlands,
while the plains are forecast to record 33 C.

The highest temperatures will be concentrated in the country’s desert
and low-elevation regions, with forecasts pointing to 37 C in the
Badia, 40 C in both the northern Jordan Valley and at the Dead Sea,
and 41 C in the southern Jordan Valley and Aqaba.
