Khartoum, June 29, 2026 (SUNA) — President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met on Monday at his office with a delegation representing Christian denominations in Sudan. Speaking after the meeting, the President of the Omdurman-Karari Churches Union, Reverend Angelo Al-Zaki Angelo, reaffirmed the Sudanese churches’ full support for the Sudanese Armed Forces in their campaign to defeat the rebellion. He also stressed the importance of concerted international and regional efforts to rebuild the infrastructure and facilities destroyed by the war. Reverend Angelo said the meeting addressed issues of concern to Christian churches across the country, while reiterating their categorical rejection of the destruction and acts of vandalism committed by the terrorist Al-Dagalo rebel militia. He added, “After the war, we seek peace, coexistence, tolerance, reconstruction, development, and national unity.” The reverend also expressed confidence in the Sudanese Armed Forces’ eventual victory, the defeat of the enemy, and an end to this “cursed war.” He further commended Sudan’s longstanding tradition of religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence, expressing satisfaction that the government has resumed carrying out its duties from the capital, Khartoum, which he said is now secure.BH/BH
