Amman, July 14 (Petra) – Two people were killed and a third was
injured in a drowning incident at an agricultural pond in the Deir
Alla area of Balqa Governorate, the Public Security Directorate (PSD)
said on Tuesday.
The PSD stated that the Balqa Civil Defence operations room received
a report that three Asian nationals had drowned in the pond.
Specialised Civil Defence teams were dispatched to the scene and
recovered the victims from the water. A 25-year-old man and a
7-year-old child were pronounced dead, while a 19-year-old sustained
injuries.
Ambulance crews administered first aid to the injured man before
transferring him to Princess Iman Government Hospital for treatment.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to the hospital.
The relevant authorities have launched an investigation into the
circumstances surrounding the incident.
