Amman, July 29 (Petra) – The University of Jordan and the
Jordanian-American Business Council signed a memorandum of
understanding on Wednesday to strengthen academic and research
cooperation and expand partnerships with U.S. universities, research
centres and institutions.
The agreement, signed by University President Nadhir Obeidat and
Council Chair Tariq Hassan, aims to support student, faculty and
researcher exchanges, joint scientific research, innovation projects,
academic publications, conferences and training and employment
opportunities for graduates.
It seeks to attract funding for joint initiatives and promote
entrepreneurship, technology transfer and educational resource
sharing.
Obeidat said the agreement would broaden cooperation with American
academic institutions, enhance the exchange of expertise and create
new opportunities for students and faculty in line with the
university’s internationalisation strategy.
Hassan said the Council would leverage its network of U.S.
universities, research centers, funding organisations and industry
partners to support joint programmes and projects with the University
of Jordan.
