Amman, Sept. 2 (Petra) — The Honorary Consulate of Uzbekistan in
Jordan hosted a reception in Amman Tuesday evening to mark the 35th
anniversary of the country’s independence, bringing together
officials, ambassadors, journalists and guests.

Uzbek Ambassador to Jordan Nodirjon Turgunov highlighted the steadily
expanding ties between Jordan and Uzbekistan, saying bilateral
relations have gained significant momentum, supported by strong
relations between the leaderships of the two countries and reflected
in growing cooperation across a range of sectors.

Turgunov said His Majesty King Abdullah II’s visit to Uzbekistan in
August last year provided fresh impetus to bilateral relations,
opening new avenues for cooperation and resulting in the signing of
several agreements and a series of talks between the two sides.

He also pointed to Uzbekistan’s economic, administrative and
technological reforms and the opportunities they create for deeper
cooperation and investment with Jordan, particularly in green energy,
technology, water, exports and capital development. The reforms are
being pursued under the country’s “Uzbekistan 2030” strategy.

Uzbekistan’s Honorary Consul in Jordan, Luay Abu-Ghazaleh, welcomed
the progress in bilateral relations and stressed the importance of
maintaining that momentum and further expanding cooperation in ways
that serve the mutual interests of both countries.

The reception also featured a video presentation highlighting
Uzbekistan’s development achievements and investment opportunities.
