Amman, Oct. 11 (Petra) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy
stated on Sunday that he would organize elections in Ukraine if
Russian President Vladimir Putin agrees to a 60-day ceasefire,
responding to recent criticism from U.S. President Donald Trump.
“Tell Putin: give us two months, 60 days of a total ceasefire, and we
will hold elections,” Zelenskyy said during an interview on ABC’s
This Week, Reuters reported.
Trump had criticized Zelenskyy on Saturday over Ukrainian drone and
missile strikes targeting Russian oil refineries. The criticism came
a day after the United States temporarily lifted certain sanctions on
Russian fuel aimed at curbing Moscow’s revenues used to finance its
war in Ukraine.
