Lima, February 23 (QNA) – Fifteen people were killed when a military helicopter crashed in southern Peru.
The Peruvian Air Force stated in a press release Monday that rescue teams confirmed the deaths of the four crew members and the eleven passengers on board the helicopter.
This followed an intensive search operation in which joint patrols of special forces and police located the wreckage.
The helicopter, an MI-17, had gone missing and lost radio contact on Sunday afternoon before the search efforts culminated in its discovery Monday. (QNA)
