Al-Eisir: Ministry Plans to Establish Second Regional Radio and Television Centre in Atbara

Atbara, Jan. 28, 2026 (SUNA) – The Federal Minister of Culture, Information, Tourism and Antiquities, Khalid Al-Eisir, announced his ministry’s intention to lay the foundation stone for the second regional centre of the Sudan Radio and Television Corporation (SRTC) in Atbara, following the opening of the first regional centre in Port Sudan, the capital of Red Sea State. He affirmed that the new approach of the “Government of Hope” seeks to dismantle the principle of concentrating state administration in a single location.Addressing the people of River Nile State during his participation in the Cultural Evening organized by the state as part of the accompanying programme of the “Made in River Nile” Forum, the minister spoke in the presence of the Wali of River Nile State, Dr. Mohamed Al-Badawi Abdel-Majid Abugron, members of his government, Commander of the Artillery Corps, Maj. Gen. Mohamed Al-Amin, and leaders of the security committee. Al-Eisir stated that his ministry has long regarded River Nile State as possessing significant cultural and media weight, as well as infrastructure that qualifies it to host the Ministry of Information in Atbara. He noted that Atbara city previously hosted the headquarters of the Radio and Television Corporation, adding that the ministry holds special appreciation for the people of the state for welcoming its institutions.He praised the steadfastness of the state’s residents and their national contributions throughout history, and commended the sacrifices of the Armed Forces and the Artillery Corps in defending the land and honour and in defeating the rebels.
