Wad Madani, Jan. 16, 2026 (SUNA) – The Wali of Al-Gezira State, Al-Tahir Ibrahim Al-Khair, commended the banking sector’s role in supporting reconstruction and development projects across the state.During a meeting on Friday at the Guest Palace in Wad Madani with the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS), Dr. Sami Abdel-Hafeez Salih, in the presence of the CBOS Madani Branch Director, Magdi Al-Bakhit, the Wali called on the banking sector to continue financing major developmental and service initiatives.For his part, the CBOS Deputy Governor outlined the Central Bank’s upcoming plans and projects in the state.Meanwhile, the CBOS Madani Branch Director underscored the strong cooperation between the state government and the banking system, announcing that 2026 will see the implementation of a series of programmes aimed at supporting economic activity, with a particular focus on micro, small, and medium enterprise financing.FA/BH
