Madani, Feb. 10, 2026 (SUNA) – Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani Al-Mansouri concluded a three-day visit to Al-Gezira State on Tuesday with a field inspection of the Sudanese-Turkish Centre for Genetic Resources and Semen Production in Al-Managil.During the visit, the minister received a detailed briefing on the centre’s operations and its role in advancing the livestock sector. He commended the staff and reaffirmed the centre’s sustained contribution to improving and developing the national herd through the introduction of high-productivity breeds.He underlined the importance of linking animal resources institutions with scientific bodies and universities to strengthen research and development, and called for a joint study with the University of Al-Managil to enable the centre to achieve leadership in genetic resources and livestock breeding improvement.The minister stated that the artificial insemination centre in Al-Managil possesses significant capabilities that could generate profits of up to $1.5 million per month.The visit was attended by Director-General and Acting State Minister of the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources in Al-Gezira State, Dr. Arafa Mahmoud Ahmed; Executive Director of Al-Managil Locality, Othman Yousuf Ahmed and a number of official and community leaders.BH/BH
