Armed Attack on Gold Mine in Indonesia Kills Two People

Jakarta, February 22 (QNA) – Two people were killed in an armed attack on a gold mine today in Central Papua province, Indonesia.

ANTARA News said that an armed attack targeted a gold mine in Central Papua, leading the death of two people. Local authorities have identified one of the victims, while efforts are continuing to identify the other.

ANTARA quoted a security official as saying that security forces evacuated 75 people from the mine site, stressing that the evacuations were aimed at preventing further security threats. (QNA)
