Cabinet Social Development Sector Approves Key Education, Social and Health Projects

The Social and Cultural Development Sector of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday approved a number of priority projects for 2026–2027 during a meeting chaired by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Ahmed Modawi Musa.The sector approved a proposal from the Ministry of Education to establish 20 national industrial schools aimed at equipping youth with technical and vocational skills aligned with the needs of the local and global labor markets, helping reduce unemployment and create job opportunities.It also endorsed a social and economic recovery project for families affected by the war, along with the establishment of a unified social registry for beneficiaries of social protection programs to help mitigate the war’s impact on citizens.The sector further approved a project to improve the ranking and development of Sudanese universities, establish a governance system for higher education institutions, strengthen academic accreditation, and enhance research output in line with international standards.The meeting also discussed Ministry of Health projects to establish integrated specialized medical cities across the country and to support the community health system.BH/BH
