Al-Dabba, Jan. 28, 2026 (SUNA) – A delegation from the Danish Red Cross Society on Wednesday visited Azhari Al-Mubarak displacement shelter in Al-Affadh area of Al-Dabba locality to assess conditions of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and identify key challenges and needs.The delegation met with the locality’s Emergency and Crisis Committee, chaired by Deputy Committee Head Rami Abdel Rahim, in the presence of committee members and the local Sudanese Red Crescent supervisor, Ezzat Wad Haj. The meeting reviewed the overall humanitarian situation and urgent needs in food, health, shelter, and basic services, and discussed coordination and joint support between local authorities and international organizations.The delegation praised the efforts of the Emergency Committee and the community’s role in alleviating the suffering of IDPs, commending the level of organization at the shelter.The delegation also met with Azhari Al-Mubarak, in the presence of Sudanese Red Crescent supervisor Ezzat Wad Haj, to discuss management challenges and urgent needs requiring immediate intervention.The Danish Red Cross said the visit reflects international organizations’ concern over Sudan’s humanitarian situation and underscored the importance of strengthening coordination with local authorities to ensure effective and sustainable assistance.BH/BHBottom of Form
