Amman, May 23 (Petra) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign
Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi Friday evening received a phone
call from the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs,
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
During the conversation, the two ministers discussed ways to enhance
bilateral cooperation and regional developments.
The FMs also reviewed Pakistan’s mediation efforts between the United
States and Iran.
Both sides affirmed their continued coordination of efforts to
support the mediation aimed at ending the escalation in the region
and restoring security and stability, according to a Foreign Ministry
statement.
Additionally, the two ministers urged concerted efforts to ensure
success of the mediation efforts in a bid to reach a “sustainable”
solution that addresses all the root causes of the crisis and
prevents a recurrence of escalation.
