Kuala Lumpur, Feb.10, 2026 (SUNA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salim held talks in Kuala Lumpur with the Deputy Head of International Assets at Malaysia’s Petronas, Mr. Mohamed Rahmani, as part of his official visit to Malaysia.The meeting reviewed Petronas’s relations with Sudan and its previous experience in the energy sector. The minister invited the company to rebuild and resume its engagement in Sudan and to explore promising investment opportunities, particularly in light of the country’s reconstruction phase.Minister Salim affirmed Sudan’s keenness to broaden cooperation with Petronas beyond the oil sector to include additional fields, pointing to the country’s significant potential in alternative and renewable energy.For his part, Mr. Rahmani presented an overview of Petronas and its global operations, expressing appreciation for the foreign minister’s visit and commending Sudan’s substantial investment potential. He said cooperation and engagement with Sudan would serve the shared interests of both sides.BH/BH
