Khartoum, March 25, 2025 (SUNA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salim, received in Khartoum the Personal Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General to Sudan, Mr. Pekka Haavisto, who is visiting Sudan for the first time since his appointment to the post, succeeding Ramtane Lamamra.The Minister conveyed the appreciation of the Government and people of Sudan for the efforts of the UN Secretary-General, his personal engagement with developments in Sudan, and his continued endeavors to advance appropriate solutions to the conflict.He also extended his best wishes to Haavisto for success in his new mission, affirming the Sudanese Government’s full cooperation and readiness to provide all necessary facilitation to support the effective discharge of his mandate.BH/BH
