Foreign Minister: Sudanese-Sudanese Solution Is the Foundation for Peace, No Place for RSF Militia in Political Arrangements

Khartoum, (SUNA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salem affirmed that the political solution to the Sudanese crisis must be Sudanese-Sudanese, stressing that comprehensive national dialogue represents the optimal path to achieving sustainable peace and that there will be no place for the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in any future political arrangements.In an interview with the Sudan News Agency (SUNA), he said Sudan’s vision for a political solution had been clearly presented before the UN Security Council, affirming that Sudan would continue along the path that fulfills the aspirations of the Sudanese people. He commended the sacrifices of the Armed Forces and supporting forces in defending the country.The minister praised the efforts of the committee tasked with preparing for Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue, calling for it to be given the opportunity to carry out its duties, and urging political and societal forces to support the dialogue efforts and participate in them.He added that fighters who choose to return to the ranks of the homeland would be welcomed, stressing that the door is also open to political opponents.Salem underscored the importance of making the post-war phase different, based on broad popular participation, particularly by youth, women, and active sectors of society, considering that building peace is the responsibility of society as a whole.The minister called for enhancing the role of Sudanese abroad in the recovery and reconstruction phase and benefiting from their expertise and knowledge. He noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working to expand the scope of public and people-to-people diplomacy and connect Sudanese professionals abroad with national reconstruction efforts.He revealed that discussions had been held with the leadership of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in New York on transferring knowledge, benefiting from the expertise of Sudanese migrants, and creating conditions for the return of skilled professionals and expertise to Sudan.Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salem stressed that peaceful coexistence and addressing the social impacts of the war are priorities in the post-war phase, affirming the need to draw on international experiences in reconciliation and fostering a culture of peace, and to promote these values through educational, religious, cultural, and artistic institutions, as well as various community platforms.He said that concerted efforts by Sudanese at home and abroad could contribute to building the new Sudanese society, leading to a stable, healthy, and peaceful homeland that maintains good relations with its neighbors and the international community. He affirmed that Sudan opens its doors to anyone who wants to live with it in peace, while those who bring mercenaries to seize what they want should go elsewhere, as there is no place for them in Sudan.BH/BH
