Beirut, May 19 (Petra) — Israeli airstrikes targeting the town of
Deir Qanoun El Nahr in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon on
Tuesday evening killed seven people and injured three others.
A Lebanese security source reported that the Israeli military also
carried out a massive demolition operation between the towns of Blida
and Meiss El Jabal. The detonation produced a thunderous explosion
and powerful ground vibrations that were felt by residents across
various parts of southern Lebanon.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese Civil Defense stated the loss of contact with
seven citizens in the border area of Rachaiya El Foukhar, following
an incursion by an Israeli army patrol on the outskirts of the town.
Civil defense teams, in cooperation with Lebanese Army units,
initiated field search and rescue operations. Authorities
successfully located four of the citizens who had been released in
good health. However, three citizens remain in Israeli custody, and
follow-up efforts are ongoing in coordination with relevant
authorities to determine their fate and secure their release.
In a separate statement, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced
that the cumulative toll of the aggression from March 2 to May 19 has
risen to 3,042 dead and 9,301 injured.
