Jerash, July 22 (Petra) — The ancient city of Jerash is set to
welcome visitors for the 40th Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts
following the completion of extensive technical and logistical
preparations, with organizers broadening this year’s program to
include additional archaeological landmarks.

Local antiquities authorities said the expanded festival layout is
designed to offer visitors a more immersive cultural experience while
preserving the integrity of one of Jordan’s best-preserved Roman
sites.

Among the new additions are the Hippodrome and the Vault of Zeus,
both of which will host festival events for the first time.

The new venues are expected to diversify the program and encourage
visitors to explore more of the archaeological city beyond its
traditional performance spaces.

Officials also confirmed that maintenance and conservation work has
been carried out across the site in preparation for the festival,
ensuring that infrastructure and visitor facilities are ready while
protecting the city’s archaeological heritage.

Authorities have urged visitors to comply with site regulations and
help preserve the ancient city by respecting its historical monuments
and maintaining the cleanliness of the venue throughout the festival.
