Amman, May 21 (Petra) – The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization
(JHCO), in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
Expatriates, the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army, and the World
Food Programme (WFP), dispatched the fifth relief convoy to the
Republic of Lebanon.
This initiative is part of Jordan’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to
support the Lebanese people and mitigate the impact of difficult
humanitarian conditions.
The convoy consists of 25 trucks loaded with medicines, infant
formula, and food supplies. These essential medical and food
resources are aimed at supporting the health sector, enhancing food
security, and meeting the immediate needs of the most affected
families and children to help ease their growing humanitarian
burdens.
Hussein Al-Shibli, Secretary-General of the JHCO, stated that the
continuous dispatch of relief convoys to Lebanon reflects Jordan’s
firm commitment to its humanitarian mission.
Al-Shibli noted that Jordan, under its Hashemite leadership,
maintains an active presence alongside sisterly nations through an
organized, institutional response mechanism that ensures aid reaches
the areas and families most in need.
He added that the organization continues to work with its partners
and relevant authorities to scale up relief interventions in line
with field requirements and priorities.
The JHCO expressed its appreciation for the cooperation and
facilities provided by Syrian authorities, which helped streamline
the transit of the humanitarian convoy into Lebanon.
The organization continues to implement its relief and humanitarian
programs across several countries, utilizing an integrated logistical
system to receive, prepare, and dispatch aid efficiently.
