Amman, July 22 (Petra) — Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce
(JCC) Senator Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq met Wednesday with Georgian
Ambassador to Jordan Archil Dzuliashvili to discuss expanding
bilateral economic and commercial cooperation between the business
communities of both nations.

According to a JCC statement, the meeting addressed strategies to
increase bilateral trade volume, foster direct linkages between
private sector organizations, and establish regular information
exchanges regarding available investment opportunities.

Discussions covered joint potential across key sectors, including
tourism, services, information technology, higher education, and
agriculture.

Al-Haj Tawfiq highlighted the promising prospects for economic
collaboration, emphasizing the need for intensified delegation visits
and joint trade exhibitions.

He proposed signing a formal cooperation agreement with the Georgian
Chamber of Commerce and Industry and establishing a joint
Jordanian-Georgian Business Council to provide a structured
institutional framework for private sector engagement.

Highlighting Jordan’s strategic location and network of free trade
agreements, Al-Haj Tawfiq positioned the Kingdom as a regional trade
gateway for Georgian enterprises. He affirmed the JCC’s readiness to
host prospective Georgian investors and provide detailed insights
into investment landscapes across the country.

Ambassador Dzuliashvili expressed Tbilisi’s keen interest in
developing ties with Jordan, pointing to significant potential for
growth in trade and mutual investment. He underscored the strategic
importance of establishing a direct, scheduled airline route between
both countries to facilitate tourism and commercial movement, noting
that current flights operated by private Jordanian carriers remain
insufficient to meet growing demand.

The ambassador noted that Georgia hosts a substantial number of
Jordanian medical students alongside thousands of annual Jordanian
tourists. He confirmed that the embassy will collaborate with the JCC
to facilitate business match-making and provide market intelligence
to both commercial sectors.

Dzuliashvili extended an invitation to Al-Haj Tawfiq to lead a
Jordanian trade delegation to Georgia. Both sides agreed to convene a
virtual joint meeting next month–involving the JCC, the Georgian
Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Jordanian Embassy in Baku, and
the Georgian Embassy in Amman–to finalize a strategic economic
roadmap.
