Cairo, July 21 (Petra) – Jordan joined Arab League media committees
in Cairo on Tuesday to advance regional strategy on
counter-terrorism, digital media regulation, cybersecurity, and
online safety.

During the two-day session, the Arab Experts Group on
Counter-Terrorism met to advance the executive plan for the joint
Arab media strategy to combat terrorism.

Discussions focused on leveraging modern communication technologies
to counter extremist ideologies, drafting an Arab guideline for
terrorism media coverage, and launching joint awareness campaigns on
terror risks.

Simultaneously, the Arab Electronic Media Committee convened to
address digital media governance and cybersecurity. Key agenda items
included drafting model Arab legislation to regulate digital media
and influencer content, strengthening websites and platforms against
cyberattacks, and publishing a study on the current state of
electronic media in the region.

Delegates also reviewed recommendations on monitoring video games
that incite violence, assessing their impact on community safety, and
upgrading the committee’s website, which is managed by the UAE.
