Jordan Media Commission Denies Sending Payment Texts to Content Creators

Amman, May 20 (Petra) –Jordan Media Commission (JMC) spokesperson
Omar Homsi on Wednesday denied reports circulated on social media
alleging the commission has sent text messages to content creators
demanding payments.

In a statement, Homsi said neither the JMC nor any other government
body has sent such messages, confirming the commission had launched
an investigation into the source of the fraudulent texts.

Homsi noted this probe comes in coordination with the National
Cybersecurity Center and the Cybercrime Unit of the Criminal
Investigation Department, with legal action to follow.
