Jordanian Students Win Global Honors at Huawei ICT Competition in China

Amman, June 5 (Petra)– Jordanian university students achieved
outstanding success at the 10th Huawei ICT Competition, hosted in
Shenzhen, China, securing second and third places globally in two
major categories.

The Jordanian team competing in the Cloud Track won second place
worldwide. The team consisted of students Sarah Al-Jamal, Mohammad
Abu Al-Rub, and Mahmoud Adel from Aqaba University of Technology,
Applied Science Private University, and Al Hussein Technical
University.

Another Jordanian team earned third place globally in the Computing
Track. The team included students Ahmad Khallaf, Malek Al-Adwan, and
Ahmad Khader from Aqaba University of Technology, Al Hussein Bin
Talal University, and the University of Jordan.

According to a statement issued by Huawei on Friday, the
competition’s tenth edition followed a series of qualifying rounds
involving 131 teams from 100 countries. More than 220,000 contestants
from nearly 2,000 universities and educational institutions worldwide
participated in the event.

The Huawei ICT Competition is regarded as one of the world’s leading
contests in the information and communications technology sector. It
aims to develop students’ technical and innovative skills while
promoting academic cooperation and knowledge exchange among
educational institutions across the globe.
