Khartoum, March 25, 2026 (SUNA) – Wali of Khartoum State, Ahmed Othman, met today with the Turkish Ambassador to Sudan, Fateh Yilmaz, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Acting Minister and Director-General of the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Tourism for the state, Al-Tayib Saad-Eddin.The meeting focused on arrangements for the embassy’s return to its premises in Khartoum and ways to support the government following its reinstatement in the capital.The Wali thanked the Ambassador for his visit, marking his second since the liberation of Khartoum, and commended the President and people of Turkey for their support of Sudan’s government during the war. He highlighted the visit’s importance, coinciding with the return of the Government of Hope to Khartoum, and emphasized that the embassy’s presence in the capital will facilitate cooperation between the two countries.He pledged to provide all necessary support to ease the embassy’s operations, particularly in securing alternative premises to enable it to resume its work.The Ambassador said that this visit differs from previous ones, as it is focused on resuming the embassy’s operations from Khartoum and on reconstructing the embassy building, the ambassador’s residence, and staff housing that were damaged during the war. He thanked the Wali of Khartoum for the facilitation provided to the embassy’s work in the gradually recovering capital.He added that the embassy is present to support the government in Khartoum and stands ready to assist the state government in any requirements related to reconstruction.BH/BH
