Khartoum, 15-3-2026 (SUNA) – The Wali of Khartoum State, Ahmed Othman Hamza, has directed that medical and therapeutic services be provided in all medical service centers across health facilities in central urban areas and peripheral areas, ensuring high efficiency to meet citizens’ health needs across all locations.This directive came during an extensive meeting held on Sunday with the directors of general and specialized directorates of the Ministry of Health in Khartoum State.The Wali emphasized that ambulance services must remain fully operational and ready for rapid response in emergency cases, noting that the prompt response to patient reports constitutes a fundamental pillar of the healthcare system, particularly during public holidays and vacations, which see an increased demand for medical services.The meeting also reviewed a set of arrangements and preparations for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday period to ensure the continuous provision of health services without interruption during the holiday.Participants were briefed on ongoing preparations to establish emergency rooms at the local level. These rooms will continuously monitor the health situation and coordinate between hospitals, health centers, and ambulance units to ensure rapid handling of any medical emergency that may arise during the holiday period.The meeting also confirmed the availability of medical supplies across health institutions, underscoring the importance of bolstering the strategic stock of medicines and medical equipment to prevent any shortages of essential drugs required by patients. In addition, health facilities will be supported with the necessary medical and technical personnel to ensure the delivery of services at a high level of efficiency.Furthermore, the Wali of Khartoum emphasized the importance of strengthening field operations and maintaining continuous oversight of health institutions’ performance, directing full coordination among the various directorates to ensure the smooth functioning of hospitals and health centers throughout the Eid al-Fitr holiday period.BH/BH
