Ministry of Digital Transformation Announces Launch of Sudanese Cybersecurity Authority

Port Sudan, 22 January 2026 (SUNA) – The Ministry of Digital Transformation and Communications today announced the launch of the Sudanese Cybersecurity Authority.The Ministry stated: “Today, we announce the launch of the Sudanese Cybersecurity Authority as a pivotal institutional step in establishing an integrated national cybersecurity framework in Sudan.”It added that this launch represents a transition from fragmented approaches to institutional governance, through the unification of policies, organization of roles, and strengthening the protection of digital infrastructure and critical services, based on a risk management approach and internationally recognized standards.The Authority will lead this agenda at the national level by developing policies and regulatory frameworks, enhancing compliance, and building national capacities. This will support service stability, bolster partner confidence, and empower national talents—particularly youth—to actively participate in the digital economy.The Ministry emphasized that this initiative reflects Sudan’s commitment to building a secure, organized, and adaptable digital space, forming the foundation for responsible digital transformation and strengthening the country’s position within regional and international frameworks.BH/BH
